Position Description:

The Atlanta Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) is seeking a new Chapter Administrator. This is a part-time paid support position.

Responsibilities include:

• Check chapter email messages daily, responding in a timely and professional manner; forward messages to appropriate Board volunteers
• Attend monthly board meetings; take notes and distribute them to board members
• Check chapter Post Office box on a monthly basis, forwarding mail to the appropriate volunteers
• Maintain chapter files, records and archives
• Attend chapter events (monthly luncheons, networking mixers, annual awards gala) and manage event logistics
– Coordinate venue/food arrangements
– Monitor/manage guest registrations for monthly events
– Prepare registration lists and name badges
– Manage setup and staff the check-in/registration table
– Process credit card payments as needed
• Support board members with various initiatives (see PDF below for specifics)

An ideal Chapter Administrator would have:

• A flexible schedule to attend chapter events and support Board portfolios as needed
• Prior administrative experience and/or professional communications experience
• Standard computer skills – Word, Excel, ability to learn Constant Contact
• Attention to detail, specifically in proofing and editing chapter marketing materials
• Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for chapter members

10-15 hours/month on average
